It could take more than a year to complete all of the coursework that is required. Associated, master and professional certified are the three classifications used for these coaches. ACC, which is the abbreviation for the associated certified individuals is an introduction into this field. Usually this can be completed within a short period of time because the work does not delve deep into the studies. Those who have more serious interest in coaching may choose to go to MCC or PCC route for certification. In these cases, there are no specified requirements to become a life skills coach of this kind, aside from having the finances, time and ultimate dedication to be successful. People who do training should attend the classes on a regular basis. A general rule of thumb is that they should attend a minimum of 90 hours per week. These courses are designed to cover a variety of topics that related to proficient coaching. There are different niches for life coaches. Some are spiritual, others are more involved with executive or leadership coaching. Finding what appeals to you and is your strong point is important. It may take time and experience to figure this out. During the learning process, individuals will complete at least twelve hours as a coach and client, approximately sixty hours. There is also hour requirements for business building studies, courses that are meant to help people develop a business in the field. Supervised coach sessions are mandatory so that the experience can be viewed and constructive feedback may be given for improvement. Overall, the cost of these courses can add up to thousands, which is a price that many people are willing to cover in order to help others through this kind of work. After certification has been done, it is the sole responsibility of the coaches to create a business for themselves as a coach. This means that they need to learn how to sell their services, market through various sources, network with other and ultimately, attract clients.
