The Story Behind Our New Logo & Brand Identity

Welcome to an exciting moment in The Life Coaching College's journey. As we celebrate our elevation to level-two accreditation with the International Coach Federation (ICF), we're also unveiling a new era of our brand—a symbol representing our mission and the transformative impact of coaching.

Introducing Our New Logo: The Lighthouse

Lighthouse Logo Color 2

“I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship.”

-Louisa May Alcott

Here's what this powerful symbol means to us:

The lighthouse, our new emblem, is more than just a logo. It represents the role we play as Coaches. Our clients are the captains of their own sailboats, and in coaching, the keyword is autonomy. It’s all about teaching clients how to be captains who can read the compass (Feelings), use the steering wheel (values), fix leaks (weaknesses), hoist the sails (strengths), navigate any weather (life events), work with other captains (relationships), and reach destinations (goals). You can draw a parallel between a good Coach and a lighthouse with four key points:

  1. (Temporary) Aid: Any effective coaching is temporary, so a Coach should be a temporary aid on the journey. In the same way that a lighthouse is a temporary aid on the journey, the goal should always be for clients to become as autonomous as possible as soon as possible.
  2. Service: A lighthouse operates to serve the boat’s journey in the same way that a coach should operate to serve the client’s life.
  3. Clarify Position: The lighthouse clarifies the boat's current position. A great deal of coaching should be about clarifying the client's position. It’s not about telling them what to do but allowing them insight and awareness to make their own choices.
  4. Uncover Possibilities: A lighthouse clarifies the environment of a boat. In the same way, an essential job of a Coach is to illuminate possibilities for clients, to show them what else is there and what they can do, and to explore options without telling them what to do.
